Another thing I am going to be working out here is my desire to be more "granola", or doing some "homesteading". I have a couple friends who are going to be working with me to learn how to start and grow our own food! How cool is that!!??
I have been using Pinterest quite a bit in my quest for knowledge! ha! Anyway, one of the sites posts some great checklists that I love:
What things do I want to change?
What things do I want to do?
What skill do I want to learn?
So, starting a garden covers all of these - I want to change my diet. I want to move around and be outside more, and I want to learn how to grow things. Confession - I have been known to kill every plant I've ever owned or been semi- responsible for. So, I will have to work hard to break that curse!

Ok, Ok
I am not actually a little girl (by any means) nor do I live in a big city. However, I grew up in Birmingham and since I am starting this blog as a remembrance of my life, it only seemed right to be titled "Little Girl in the Big City". It's funny, but that would play out in my life in more ways than one, over the years.
So, while I am fairly sure no one will read this, I am going to write it anyway. I read somewhere about journaling being important because who knows, we could be writing the Little House on the Prairie of our times. I loved that series and the show as well. Sure did seem like the kind of life I wished I had. I'm sure it won't be my stories, but I will try to collect stories from others as well, especially older relatives. Hopefully I can post some here.
